A Whole Lotta SNURD

I spent a couple of hours cleaning out my sketch pad and scanning images before I put the drawings away on a shelf. I have enough stuff for a few posts, but figured I'd just post a selection of my "Elliptical World of Snurd" drawings. Here's some recent stuff. Enjoy.

I was playing around with some posing for Toss, the main character, and working on a few others.

If you ever wondered what a girl Snurd looks like ...
One of the bad guys. A Razzul Turd named Scar.

Toss has a craft called the "Under-Over Craft" because it can transform to fly , travel on the ground or go under water. I have played with various designs over the years, but always come back to this one. Below are views for the Space-Water version and some ideas for a version with tracks for traveling over land.
Some ideas for some of the foliage on the planet.
A "Topper" tree is a carnivorous beast which can snatch and eat whatever gets within its reach, even the Under-Over Craft if Toss isn't careful when he flies it.
Finally, some random location fun.

That's it for now. I hope to get some time before Christmas to post more. Until then, take care.

Brooklyn Art Library - The Sketchbook Project

Last Christmas my younger sister got me a bit of a different gift than one would normally expect. She gave me a pan of Windsor-Newton watercolors and a small sketchbook. The sketchbook was part of the "Brooklyn Art Library - The Sketchbook Project". You can look it up online, but basically you can do whatever you want and then when you submit it it becomes part of a collection of sketchbooks. It was originally in Brooklyn, New York, but the collection seems to have recently moved to St Petersburg, Florida.

So, from about March to August I chipped away at this book, doing a page as I sat at my small drawing table in front of my TV. Below is what I did. As usual, it's all done with ballpoint pens. Someday I may get a few copies printed out to give to a few friends and family, but for now it will live here. Enjoy.

That's it for now. I hope to post something else once I clean out my real sketchbook.
