Nap Time

Another year is on the wane and this is my last post for it. It has been a fairly quiet year and except for my father passing away it has been a very enjoyable one. I have been working on a project which has been fun to be a part of, and I worked as an Animation Director on a freelance project which just won a platinum Pixie Award (Yay Team!!). I'll post a few frame grabs from it once I get clearance from the producers after the film's official release. That will come later.

I did a final purge of my sketch book, which is a custom board I made which holds legal sized (8.5" x 14") paper. It is not your standard hard-cover book. It allows me to keep what I like and destroy the rest. I like to do a complete clean out every so often as a sort of reset button. It's a fresh start with no other older sketches which might influence what I am going to try to do. Last year was a real mish-mash of drawings because I had no project idea of my own to focus on, so this year I am going to try to finish up on a story which I am writing (which I might or might not try to publish) and then come up with something to focus on in my free time. I sort of sounds like a new years resolution, and in a way I guess it is. We'll see how it goes.

For now, I hope you enjoy this. Cheers!

Some odd characters.
I watched the Spanish version of "Dracula" which was shot at night after the day shooting wrapped on the Bella Lugosi "Dracula". It used the same sets as the classic 1931 film. Some say it is a better film than  Lugosi version, which I totally disagree with, but the actor who played Renfield (Pablo Rubio) was over the top fun to watch. His shambled, manic, dishevelled look stuck with me so I drew this after the film was over.
Just a couple of generic, meaningless drawings.
A gathering of random girl drawings. The first is with coloured ball point pens, and the rest are done with the usual PaperMate pens which I always draw with.
The Mayan calendar end of the world never happened, but I'll tip a glass to the end of the year.
